A Quick and Easy Way to Get Your Protein! Nissui Fish Sausages Packed with Attention to Detail
Fish sausages, as the name suggests, are primarily made from fish. They're a powerful ally for those looking for an easy way to incorporate protein into their daily meals.
Nissui's fish sausages have even more qualities that make them special. The gentle coloring, characteristic of our fish sausages, comes from plant-derived pigments including tomato lycopene and gardenia.
We deliver fish sausages packed with various innovations, including "egg-free" product design, which allows people with egg allergies to eat with confidence, and added nutrients such as calcium and EPA/DHA.
Osakana no Sausage (Fish Sausage)
A Food for Specified Health Use (FOSHU) product that provides approximately half of the daily calcium requirement in one serving.
Mainichi Kore Ippon EPA+DHA Sausage
Contains 1,050mg of EPA/DHA per serving with 30% reduced sodium content.
Fish Sausages: Evolving for Greater Convenience
Fish sausages have a long history at Nissui, dating back to 1952 when we began full-scale manufacturing and sales. These products have now been beloved bestsellers for over 70 years.
The traditional aluminum clips once standard on fish sausages became a concern as waste sorting became more common. After years of trial and error, Nissui introduced the "Eco-clip," a film-based closure that eliminated the need for metal clips. This change not only made disposal easier by eliminating the need to separate aluminum but also resulted in reducing Nissui's aluminum usage by over 100 tons annually.
We also introduced an "Easy-Open" film design. The fish sausage film, which was previously difficult to open and peel, can now be opened in just two steps. Simply grip the sealed portion on the side and tear along the perforation to peel. The perforation can be started from any position and reused.
Growing Demand: Continuing to Be a Trusted Choice
Fish sausages are popular for their versatility - they're delicious both on their own and as an ingredient in cooking. Like canned goods and shelf-stable retort foods, fish sausages undergo pressure-heat sterilization during manufacturing, making them shelf-stable at room temperature.
Easy to store and portable. High in protein and calcium, and delicious straight from the pack.
These qualities have made fish sausages a popular choice for emergency food supplies. Their hygienic packaging, which allows eating without direct hand contact, has also made them increasingly popular for outdoor activities and as a nutritious snack between sports activities. They're also perfect for growing children to enjoy as a snack between study sessions or before and after club activities.
Nissui will continue to produce these beloved fish sausages, enhancing their value while staying responsive to evolving lifestyles.
