To strengthen our research and development capabilities, the cornerstone of our business expansion, we consolidated our R&D facilities at the Tokyo Innovation Center, which opened in Hachioji, Tokyo in 2011.
The Center will encourage researchers to adopt a new mindset and provide better control of activities to promote R&D. At the same time, a better research environment will help speed up and enhance R&D quality, improve coordination among divisions, and contribute to further business expansion.
We hope that the Center will encourage communication with customers and the local community, help us be a better corporate citizen, and serve as a functional and creative R&D base for the next 100 years of the Nissui Group.
Features and Strengths of the Tokyo Innovation Center
R&D Personnel with Diverse Expertise
Founded in 1920 as Japan's first private fishery research organization, the Hayatomo Fishery Research Institute, Nissui's research and development activities have expanded in scale alongside its business diversification. The Tokyo Innovation Center brings together highly specialized R&D personnel across three business domains--marine products, food products, and fine chemicals--dedicated to creating innovations in food.
A Space Designed to Foster Synergies Across Divisions
As the central hub of Nissui's R&D activities, the Center integrates the Central Research Laboratory, Product Research & Development Department, Technology Development Department, Food Function R&D Center, and the Food Analysis Department under the QA division. The Center's design fosters informal communication among divisions, promoting collaboration and synergy.
A Cutting-Edge, Environmentally Conscious Research Facility
To reduce its environmental footprint and enhance sustainability for both the planet and the seas, the Center incorporates a variety of environmentally friendly measures. It has earned the highest "S Class" rating under the Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency (CASBEE), reflecting external recognition of its exceptional environmental performance.
